This past weekend was the online version of the NJ Thespians' Festival, where theatre students from 55 school across NJ competed in various theatre-related categories and did workshops to improve their skills. We had eight students enter and spread across three entries: short film, costume construction, and chapter select (one-act play). The winners were announced Monday morning, and the following students were amongst those listed:
Cristal Castillo (our International Thespian Society president) came in second place for best actress for her role as the Caretaker in Twisted Tales of Poe Dallina Garro-Montanez (our International Thespian Society secretary) won for costume construction making her eligible for the International Thespian Festival in June and earning her a NJ Governor's Award for Arts Education, which will be presented at the end of May. And Congratulations to CTE Theatre Teacher Ms. Felicia Brown for all of her hard work and dedication to her students!
